Scott is a Tampa native who grew up swimming in the bay area under the guidance of his father/coach at age 4. Scott was trained by several accomplished coaches where he gained the knowledge and expertise that he carries with him today. He swam at Chamberlain H.S. where he won All-Conference and All-Tribune. From there he earned a swim scholarship to Broward Community College where he won 2 National titles in the 400 IM and the 1650 Free. Scott then went on to swim at Missouri State University where he graduated with a degree in Physical Education K-12. While in college Scott started his coaching career as the asst. coach at Hillcrest H.S. In 1998 Scott became the Head Coach at Sickles H.S. where he was Coach of The Year 3 years in a row and in 2008 was named the Tampa Tribune Coach of the Year. In 2001 April 15 th , Scott Parlett started Swim Tampa Aquatics. Since then he has coached 3 state champions at Sickles H.S., place in the top 5 at the state level 3 years in a row, coached several swimmers to a F.L.A.G.s /Sr. Champ and National level .

Coach Abel Hernandez Gutierrez
International swimmer and member of the Cuban National Team for over a decade. Central American Champion and record holder (1990), national record holder, Pan American Games competitor (1991), and FINA World Cup swimmer (1989–1992).
Swimming coach since 1995, with experience in three countries: Cuba, Mexico, and the United States.
Coach of Para-Pan American Games bronze medalist Andy Guerrero (Lima 2019), as well as multiple national age-group champions and international swimmers representing Mexico.
Swimming is my lifelong passion, and I firmly believe that “Sports create better people, and swimming creates even better ones.”
